Optical network problems are primarily caused by dirt particles trapped between two fiber end faces that will significantly degrade the optical signal. A particle that partially or completely blocks the core generates strong back reflections, which can cause instability in a laser system. One of the most basic, yet important maintenance procedures is to inspect and clean connector end faces.
The microscope OLP-82P has a high-resolution 3.5-inch color LCD video display and a built-in power meter. The P5000i digital inspection probe for in-adapter inspection is included in the kit.
